How to Use Your York Student Dental Plan at Our Clinic
Step 1: Bring Your Student ID & Insurance Card
Bring your York student ID and your insurance information (your policy number is usually on your YFS plan confirmation email or card). With this information, we can confirm your coverage.
Step 2: We Direct Bill Your Insurance for You
Step 3: Pay Only Your Out-of-Pocket Portion
You can log in to your Your Space account to verify your coverage, or contact our office, and we’ll explain what information you’ll need.
Remember, your GS ID number is your three-letter school code, your student number, and “-00” (example: YFS111222333-00).

Can I use my plan if I have a dental emergency?
Yes, your student plan covers some emergency visits, such as emergency endodontic procedures or exams. Give us a call as soon as an issue comes up, and we’ll verify your coverage and get you in the same day.
What happens to my coverage after I graduate?
Your YFS coverage generally runs to the end of the benefit year (Aug 31). If you’re finishing up soon, it’s a good idea to book any outstanding treatment before your coverage lapses.
Can international students use the York dental plan?
Yes, international students at York are usually enrolled in a health and dental plan automatically, separate from the domestic YFS plan. Coverage details differ slightly, so bring your insurance card to your first visit, and we’ll sort out the specifics with you.
